UCO RECOGNIZED AS ‘MILITARY FRIENDLY’ SCHOOL
The University of Central Oklahoma continues to receive recognition for its commitment to student veterans and their families.
Victory Media today announced that Central is on its 2017 “Military Friendly Schools” list for the fifth consecutive year. The list aims to help military service members and their families evaluate and select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education, training and student veteran support needed to pursue a civilian career.
The announcement follows UCO’s recent placement as the only Oklahoma school on The Military Times’ “Best for Vets: Colleges” list.
Retired Army Lt. Col. Kennan Horn, director of Student Support Services SALUTE and Veteran Student Support at Central, said that the additional recognition further highlights UCO’s continued efforts to support student veterans and their families.
“We feel like this is a team win for our program and our university,” Horn said.
“The University of Central Oklahoma provides an environment where student veterans can thrive. Our dedicated staff and supportive school are proud to receive the recommendations from these two organizations.”
