UCO OFFERS PREVIEW OF SORORITY LIFE AT ANNUAL SUMMER TEA
The University of Central Oklahoma Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life invites current and incoming students who are interested in joining a sorority to attend the Panhellenic Summer Tea at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 20 in the Nigh University Center Ballrooms on Central’s campus.
Any woman who currently attends Central, or who is planning to attend in the fall, along with her parents or guardians, is invited to the free event. The afternoon will include a panel discussion from staff and sorority advisors intended to educate attendees about sorority recruitment at Central. Pre-registration is not required.
"Summer Tea is an opportunity for students and their families to learn about the Panhellenic Council's recruitment process. Attendees will be given ample opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from Panhellenic Council officers and professional staff members from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life,” said Jacob Tidwell, assistant director for Fraternity and Sorority Life at Central.
“There will also be information available about each of Central’s chapter, so that students and parents can learn more about the values, events, activities and philanthropies of each.”
The Panhellenic chapters at Central include Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta and Sigma Kappa.
While attendance at the Summer Tea is encouraged, it is not required to participate in Central’s formal Panhellenic Recruitment, which is scheduled for Aug. 23-25. Those interested in participating in recruitment must complete their registration by Aug. 22 by following the steps provided on www.uco.edu/greek.
