GUITAR LEGEND ADRIAN BELEW TO PERFORM THIS FALL AT ACM@UCO PERFORMANCE LAB
The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma (ACM@UCO) will welcome guitar legend Adrian Belew and his Power Trio to the ACM@UCO Performance Lab, 329 E. Sheridan Ave. in Oklahoma City, for a special performance and master class Nov. 20. Times are to be determined.
Belew is a Grammy Award-nominated guitarist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and instrument designer who has been working professionally in the music industry for over 35 years. He is best known for his work with King Crimson, a progressive rock group that he fronted from 1981 to 2009 and his impressionistic approach to guitar playing, which is solely his own.
In addition to his work with King Crimson, Belew has toured with notable bands and artists such as Talking Heads, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Paul Simon and Nine Inch Nails and is currently touring as the Adrian Bellew Power Trio throughout North America.
“Adrian is one of the most influential guitar players of all time. His style of guitar playing is incomparable and uniquely his own,” said Scott Booker, CEO of ACM@UCO.
“The opportunity to see Adrian perform and talk about his career is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students. His show is a must see.”
Tickets are $28 for the general public and $20 for UCO students with valid Central I.D. and are available at http://acm.preferredfan.com.
