UCO INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO CAMPUS FOR LIBERTYFEST FESTIVITIES
The University of Central Oklahoma will host LibertyFest 2014 activities, including the celebration’s grand finale fireworks show at 10 p.m. July 4.
LibertyFest is Edmond’s weeklong celebration of our nation’s heritage leading up to Independence Day. CNN and USA Today call LibertyFest one of top 10 places to be on July 4 in the U.S.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the fireworks finale. The show will be synchronized to music on KUCO-FM 90.1.
Also on campus, Park Fest begins at 6:30 p.m. July 4. Leading up to the fireworks show, children can enjoy a giant slide, an obstacle course, a belly bounce, a swing ride, faux hair coloring, temporary tattoos and a balloon artist.
Food, beverages and patriotic items will be available for purchase, and attendees are invited to enjoy free, ice-cold watermelon while supplies last.
The fireworks show and Park Fest are free and open to the public. Central’s campus is both tobacco- and alcohol-free. For the safety of all guests, outside coolers and family pets are not permitted.
