UCO Celebrates Culture as Students Compete for 'Miss Hispanic 2014' Crown

UCO CELEBRATES CULTURE AS STUDENTS COMPETE FOR ‘MISS HISPANIC 2014’ CROWN
University of Central Oklahoma students will compete for the Miss Hispanic UCO title during the university’s annual scholarship pageant at 7 p.m. April 19 in Nigh University Center Constitution Hall on Central’s campus. Luciana Perez, Miss Hispanic UCO 2009, is the pageant’s director.
Themed “Noche de Pasarela” or “Night of Runway” for 2014, the pageant will award a $1,600 scholarship to the winner, $850 to the first runner-up and $500 to the second runner-up.
Contestants will also compete for the Erika Balderas Talent Award, the Fabiola Hernandez Photogenic Award, the Adelita Dixon People’s Choice Award and the Abby Balderas Future Businesswoman Award.
Admission is free for those with a UCO ID and $7 for those without. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s eight contestants, followed by hometown, classification and major are:
Junior, Vocal Performance
Junior, Early Childhood Education
Junior, Child Development
Junior, Organizational Communication
Sophomore, Fashion Marketing and Photographic Arts
Junior, Forensic Science and Criminal Justice
