OKLAHOMA CITY MAYOR MICK CORNETT TO SPEAK AT UCO

The University of Central Oklahoma will host Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett at 11 a.m. April 10 in the Nigh University Center’s Constitution Hall on Central’s campus.

Free and open to the public, the event is sponsored by the university’s Volunteer and Service Learning Center, the American Democracy Project, the UCO Wellness Center and Leadership Central.

Cornett, who has served as Oklahoma City’s mayor since 2004, will discuss social responsibility, civic engagement and his health and wellness initiative in Oklahoma City.

“We feel that the UCO community will benefit from Mayor Cornett’s presentation in a major way as he’ll demonstrate real world applications for a number of the Central Six — discipline knowledge; leadership; problem solving; service learning and civic engagement; global and cultural competency; and health and wellness,” said Patrick Tadlock, coordinator for the Office of Off-Campus Life.
