UCO CLIMBS IN RANKINGS AS A TOP UNIVERSITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The University of Central Oklahoma has again been recognized as a top institution of higher learning for international students, ranking 14th among all master’s level institutions in the U.S., according to the Open Doors Report on International Education Exchange.
Central moved up one spot in the 2012-2013 rankings and remains the only university of any type in Oklahoma to be ranked in the top 40 of the Open Doors Report.
International students represent 86 countries and 8 percent of the student body at Central. Students from Saudi Arabia, China, Korea, Vietnam and Nepal make up about 68 percent of UCO’s international enrollment.
“International students point to our small class size, quality faculty student interaction, long history and affordability as top reasons for selecting Central,” said Dennis Dunham, Ph.D., executive director of the Office of Global Affairs at Central.
“Beyond all of that, international students love the university’s caring atmosphere — not only of faculty and staff, but of the community as well. Prospective students compare us to schools across the country and find that we are everything they want: a top-notch university located in a robust metropolitan area,” Dunham continued.
