UCO MUSICAL THEATRE STUDENTS PRESENT FUNDRAISER EVENT ‘MACABRET: A SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN REVUE’
The University of Central Oklahoma Musical Theatre Division will present an evening of pop-rock favorites in their fundraiser show “Macabret: A Spooktacular Halloween Revue” at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Oct. 25-26 and 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at the UCO Jazz Lab, located at 100 E. Fifth St. in Edmond.
The Halloween show opens with Michael Jackson’s hit “Thriller” and showcases contemporary tunes such as “The Man that Got Away,” “Witchy Woman,” “I Put a Spell on You” and “I’m Your Boogie Man,” with guest appearances by Jason from “Friday the 13th” and the masked villain from “Scream.” The show closes with the classic Halloween anthem “Monster Mash.”
“Macabret is in its first year and the students have done a great job making it their own,” said Greg White, Ph.D., director of musical theatre.
“Every musical theatre major has a role in the show and the students have done all the design and costume work themselves. I am amazed at their creativity. It’s going to be a spectacle worth seeing.”
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 405-974-3375. All proceeds benefit musical theatre scholarships and help fund student travel.
Hideaway Pizza and refreshments will be available for purchase.
