UCO PRESENTS GUEST PIANIST SLAWOMIR DOBRZANSKI IN CONCERT
The University of Central Oklahoma School of Music will present pianist Slawomir Dobrzanski, D.M.A., in a solo concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Radke Fine Arts Theatre located in the UCO Center for Transformative Learning.
This concert is free and open to the public.
A Poland native, Dobrzanski currently teaches applied piano, chamber music and piano literature at Kansas State University.
Dobrzanski performs frequently as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, South America, China and the United States.
He has recorded several features as a soloist and chamber musician for Polish Radio and Television in Warsaw and authored the first English language biography of the acclaimed 19th Century pianist and composer Maria Agata Wolowska-Szymanowska.
“We look forward to Dr. Dobrzanski sharing his experiences, accomplishments and musical talents with us,” said Chindarat Charoenwongse-Shaw, D.M.A., Central professor of piano.
“Students and the metropolitan community can learn a lot from watching a pianist of this caliber perform.”
Dobrzanski will perform Wolfgang Mozart, Fryderyk Chopin, Maria Szymanowska, Karol Szymanowski and Louis Moreau Gottschalk.
Dobrzanski will also give a master class at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Radke Fine Arts Theatre that is free and open to all Central piano majors.
