Two-Time Grammy Nominated Jazz Organist In Concert At UCO Jazz Lab June 3

TWO-TIME GRAMMY NOMINATED JAZZ ORGANIST IN CONCERT AT UCO JAZZ LAB JUNE 3

The University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Lab will present jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco in concert at 8 p.m. June 3.           

Signed to Columbia Records at age 16, DeFrancesco toured Europe as a teenager with Miles Davis and has since shared the stage with other musical heavyweights such as Ray Charles and Bette Midler.           

DeFrancesco is also a two-time Grammy Award nominee and winner of multiple DownBeat magazine critics’ and readers polls and Jazz Journalist awards among others.        

“Joey is continually defining today’s genre of jazz organ,” said Clint Rohr, Jazz Lab manager.  

DeFrancesco will be performing at the Jazz Lab alongside Steve Cotter (guitar) and Central alumnus Jeremy Thomas (drums).           

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling the Jazz Lab box office at 405-359-7989. The Jazz Lab is located at 100 E. Fifth St. in Edmond.
