UCO SCHOOL OF MUSIC ALUMNI RETURN TO JAZZ LAB FOR REUNION PERFORMANCE
The University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Lab will present a performance by the Aidan Carroll Quartet, a quartet comprised of Central alumni and emeritus faculty, at 8 p.m., May 29.
Since graduating from Central in 2005, jazz bassist and featured artist Carroll has toured the world as a musician. With his current home base in New York, Carroll has performed at national and international music festivals such as Bonnaroo and the Amazonas Jazz Festival.
Carroll will be joined on stage by Central alumni Jeremy Thomas, drums, and Grant Goldstein, guitar, and emeritus faculty member Lee Rucker, trumpet.
All three Central graduates attended UCO at the same time and were mentored by Rucker before launching their successful careers as musicians.
“It’s always exciting to see students come back and perform at UCO, especially this group of guys,” said Clint Rohr, Jazz Lab manager.
“It will be quite the reunion.”
Tickets are $7 and can be purchased by calling the Jazz Lab box office at 405-359-7989. The Jazz Lab is located at 100 E. Fifth Street in Edmond.
