UCO WELCOMES COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN SUMMER BAND FOR LIBERTYFEST PERFORMANCE
The University of Central Oklahoma invites community members, college musicians and advanced high school band members to join the Edmond LibertyFest Summer Band.
The all-volunteer band, under the direction of Brian Lamb, D.M.A., performs patriotic selections, marches and popular works at the “Concert in the Park,” an event that is part of Edmond’s annual 4th of July LibertyFest celebration.
“The band has been an annual source of musical fun and inspiration for Edmond community residents, whether they participate by playing in the band or by simply attending the concert,” said Lamb.
“New members and former members are welcomed eagerly and equally to this year’s edition of the group.”
This year’s concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. June 27 on the lawn just north of Mitchell Hall Theater on the UCO campus.
There is no cost to participate in the band and auditions are not required.
Weekly rehearsals will be held from 7-9 p.m. beginning Monday, June 3 in Room 104 in the UCO School of Music building. Rehearsals will continue every Monday until the concert.
For more information or to sign up, contact Lamb at BLamb@UCO.edu.
