UCO STUDENT JAZZ ENSEMBLE INVITED TO PLAY AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE
The University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Ensemble I, the top student jazz ensemble, was recently invited to perform at the 67th Midwest Clinic Annual Conference in Chicago, Ill., this upcoming December.
The Midwest Clinic is the oldest and most respected international band and orchestra conference in the world with representatives in all 50 states and 30 different countries.
The UCO Jazz Ensemble I is one of only two university jazz ensembles to be invited to perform a full concert at this upcoming conference.
“We are very excited. This performance will be a great experience for our students and one they can be proud of,” said Brian Gorrell, head of the Central Jazz Studies Division and director of Jazz Ensemble I.
“Performing at the Midwest Clinic Annual Conference is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and will be a really transformational experience for our students. I am really proud of the students and jazz faculty members,” he continued.
