UCO CHEERLEADING SQUADS WIN NATIONAL TITLE

The University of Central Oklahoma’s cheer and pom squads have proven they’re the best in the nation – for the tenth time in eleven years.

The all-girls and stunt squads placed first at the 2013 National Cheer Association/National Dance Association Collegiate Championships, held April 10-14 in Daytona Beach, Fla., with Central’s pom squad placing third.

“I could not be more proud of the way these teams represented Central. They have been practicing for months and have literally given blood, sweat and tears on their road to the championships,” said Kay Robinson, director of campus activities.

“The community support, through Facebook messages, Twitter, phone calls and texts, helped immensely. The teams wanted to win and make everyone back home proud.”
