REGISTRATION OPEN FOR STATEWIDE LGBT COLLEGE SUMMIT AT UCO
The University of Central Oklahoma’s Student Alliance for Equality (SAFE) will host the 2013 LGBT College Summit at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 in Central’s Constitution Hall in the Nigh University Center.
The summit will start at 10 a.m. with a welcome from UCO President Don Betz. Highlights of the day include six different breakout sessions and a presentation by attorney and advocate Jeff Riles. The summit will conclude at 5 p.m.
Sponsored by The Equality Network, the location of the summit rotates among Oklahoma college campuses each year.
“Students who attend the LGBT College Summit will learn about the important work that is taking place on campuses across our state to support bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender and questioning students and faculty and staff members,” said David Macey, Ph.D., faculty advisor for SAFE.
“Summit participants will be able to attend presentations on topics related to the personal, professional, academic and spiritual lives of BGLTQ individuals in every walk of life and to network with colleagues from colleges and universities throughout Oklahoma.”
Registration is free and includes a lunch and T-shirt. Participants may register at http://bit.ly/11996fW before Feb. 13.
