UCO PROMOTES GLOBAL COMPETENCY WITH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Different cultures from across the globe will come together to celebrate the University of Central Oklahoma’s 37th annual International Festival hosted by the International Student Council from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Nov. 15 in the Nigh University Center Ballrooms.
“The International Festival educates the community about cultures abroad and encourage expansion of individuals worldview,” said Tracy Tindle, immigration/activities adviser at Central.
“The festival is an opportunity to promote global and cultural competency – a key part of our mission here at Central – among our students right here on campus.”
Central’s various international student organizations will represent numerous countries, regions and continents at the festival including Africa, China, Europe, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
The student organizations will provide free food along with cultural performances and display booths.
The festival is free and open to the public.
